Next Board of Trustees Meeting is scheduled for May 16, 2012 at 6:30 p.m.

There is a Public Comment period at the beginning of every meeting for your opinion and concerns to be heard.

Your Sewer Bill will be changing beginning with the July 2012 billing.
The District is undergoing another series of upgrades, expansions and improvements to continue to meet the needs of the community and remain in compliance with State and Federal environmental discharge regulations.  The District applied for and received a loan from the State Revolving Fund Loan Program in the amount of $12,200,000 to pay for the improvements to be constructed over the next 18 months.  After addressing public comments from the January 19, 2011 Public Hearing on the projects and project funding, the following changes will occur to your monthly sewer bill;

  • You will no longer be charged a common fixed fee for monthly service, although once established, it will remain constant until January 1 of the following year.
  • The methodology used to calculate your monthly sewer bill will now be based upon your water usage, which may greatly affect your new sewer rate.
  • The new residential sewer charge uses the average water use during the months of January, February and March of 2012 to eliminate non-consumptive uses.  Commercial and industrial users will still be billed monthly based upon the current months water usage.
  • The new rates include a base charge of $25.85 per month, plus a usage charge of $2.83 per thousand gallons for residential gravity sewer service.
  • Customers served by a District maintained grinder pump will have a $7.32 per month surcharge added to their bill.
  • All customers using an excessive amount of water (>7000 gallons per month) will incur an additional monthly usage surcharge in accordance with a schedule established by ordinance.

Any questions or comments concerning the new rates may be addressed in person at a Board of Trustees meeting or by using the 'Contact Us' link at the top of this page and completing the FEEDBACK portion of the link.
